Frequently asked questions
Why preview with my own text?
A font behaves differently on real content than on the alphabet. Your actual words reveal spacing, rhythm, how numbers and punctuation look, and whether a display font stays readable at body size — the things that decide whether a typeface fits your project.
Are these free to use?
Yes. All the fonts shown are from Google Fonts, which are free for personal and commercial use. When you find one you like, download it or grab the embed code directly from the Google Fonts site for your own site or document.
Is my text private?
Your typed text stays in your browser and is never uploaded. The font files themselves are loaded from Google Fonts to render the preview, which is a standard web-font request and doesn't include your text.
About this tool
The font previewer renders your own text across two dozen of the most popular Google Fonts at once, so you can compare typefaces with real words instead of a generic specimen. Type a sentence, adjust the size, and see everything from clean sans-serifs to serifs, monospace, and handwriting styles side by side. The font files load from Google Fonts to display the preview; the text you type stays in your browser and is never uploaded. When you find one you like, download it free from Google Fonts for your project.
Like most tools on UtilityBase, the font previewer runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded or stored on a server. It's free to use with no account required. Browse more developer tools here.
