Frequently asked questions

What does the SEO analyzer check?

23 on-page factors across six groups: content & meta (title, description, H1s, content volume, canonical, robots), social sharing (Open Graph, Twitter card), images & links (alt coverage, internal/external links), technical (HTTPS, response time, HTML size, compression, viewport, favicon, structured data), security headers, and crawling (robots.txt, sitemap). Each check explains what it found and how to fix it.

How is the score calculated?

Every check earns full credit for a pass, half for a warning, and none for a fail; the score is the percentage of possible credit. It's a fast on-page health signal, not a ranking guarantee — off-page factors like backlinks matter enormously too. Use it to catch fixable issues, then re-run after you ship the fixes.

Why might results differ from what I see in my browser?

The analyzer reads the HTML your server delivers, without executing JavaScript — which is also roughly how search-engine crawlers first see the page. If your titles or content only appear after client-side rendering, they won't be detected here, and that itself is a useful SEO signal worth knowing about.

About this tool

The SEO analyzer fetches any public page and runs a 23-point on-page audit in seconds: title and meta-description quality (with character counts), H1 and heading structure, content volume, canonical and robots directives, Open Graph and Twitter cards, image alt coverage, internal/external links, HTTPS, response time, HTML weight and compression, mobile viewport, favicon, JSON-LD structured data, security headers (HSTS, nosniff, clickjacking), and robots.txt / sitemap presence. Every check is rated pass, warning, or fail with a plain-English explanation of what to fix, and the whole page rolls up into a 0–100 score. Audit your own site before a launch, re-check after fixes, or size up a competitor. The page is fetched once and nothing is stored.

The seo analyzer connects to an external service to fetch live data, so some of what you enter is sent over the network to provide the result — see the note in the tool for specifics. We don't require an account, and we don't store your queries. Most tools on UtilityBase run entirely in your browser; this one needs the network to do its job. Browse more developer tools here.
