A transparent PNG overlays onto any document without a white rectangle covering the text or lines beneath it — essential for signing on a PDF's signature line. Use the white-background version only where transparency isn't supported.

Most PDF viewers (Adobe Reader, Preview, browser-based editors) have an insert-image or fill-and-sign feature — add the transparent PNG and drag it onto the signature line. In Word or Google Docs, insert it as an image with text wrapping set to 'in front of text.'

In many jurisdictions (the US E-SIGN Act, EU eIDAS for simple signatures), an image of your signature can satisfy signature requirements for many everyday documents, though certified e-signature platforms add identity verification that some contracts require. Sign larger than feels natural — the auto-crop scales it down cleanly and big strokes hide mouse jitter. A slightly thicker stroke smooths wobble, and undo lets you redo just the last stroke instead of starting over. A phone touchscreen usually beats a mouse.
