Frequently asked questions
Where does the weather data come from?
From Open-Meteo, a free and open weather API that aggregates national weather-service models. When you search a city or use your location, that place or its coordinates is sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve the forecast. There's no account, and nothing about you is stored.
How accurate is the 7-day forecast?
Near-term (today and tomorrow) is quite reliable; accuracy drops the further out you look, which is true of every forecast. Treat the back half of the 7-day view as a trend rather than a promise, and check back as the days approach for updated model runs.
Does 'use my location' track me?
No. It uses your browser's geolocation, which asks your permission first, and the coordinates are used only to fetch that forecast — they aren't stored or sent anywhere except to the weather service. You can always just type a city name instead.
About this tool
The weather forecast tool shows current conditions, an hourly outlook, and a 7-day forecast for any city or your own location. Search a place name or tap to use your device location, and switch between °F and °C. Data comes from Open-Meteo, a free open weather service, so there's no account and no location-selling — just the forecast. It pairs with the air quality, UV index, and sunrise/sunset tools for a full picture of outdoor conditions. Weather codes follow the WMO standard, and forecasts are model estimates that get less certain further out.
The weather forecast connects to an external service to fetch live data, so some of what you enter is sent over the network to provide the result — see the note in the tool for specifics. We don't require an account, and we don't store your queries. Most tools on UtilityBase run entirely in your browser; this one needs the network to do its job. Browse more productivity tools here.
