Frequently asked questions
How much does YouTube pay per view?
There's no fixed per-view rate — earnings are measured in RPM, the revenue per 1,000 views after YouTube keeps 45% of ad revenue. RPM commonly ranges from about $1 to $3 for gaming and entertainment up to $10 or more for finance and business niches.
What's the difference between CPM and RPM?
CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions before YouTube's cut. RPM is what you actually earn per 1,000 video views after the split and across all your views, monetized or not. RPM is the number to use for estimating your take-home, and it's shown in YouTube Studio.
Is ad revenue a creator's only income?
No, and often not the biggest. Channel memberships, Super Chats, brand sponsorships, merch, and affiliate links frequently earn established creators more than ads. This calculator estimates ad revenue only, so treat it as one part of the picture.
About this tool
The YouTube money calculator estimates ad earnings from your monthly views and RPM — the revenue you keep per 1,000 views after YouTube's cut. Enter your views and RPM (or use the calculator's typical range) to see estimated monthly and yearly earnings. RPM swings enormously by niche, audience country, and season, so setting your real RPM from YouTube Studio gives the most accurate figure. It covers ad revenue only; memberships, sponsorships, and affiliates are usually a bigger share for established creators. Runs in your browser.
Like most tools on UtilityBase, the youtube money calculator runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded or stored on a server. It's free to use with no account required. Browse more calculators here.
