Frequently asked questions
Is the end date included in the count?
The count is the difference between the dates — Monday to Friday is 4 days, the standard convention. If your context counts both endpoints (some deadline rules do), add one.
What does the weekdays figure exclude?
Saturdays and Sundays only. Public holidays vary by country and year, so they're not excluded — subtract any that fall in your span for a true business-day count.
Why do different sites give different month/day breakdowns?
Months have unequal lengths, so there are two borrowing conventions when subtracting dates. This tool borrows from the month preceding the end date — the common convention — and differences between methods never exceed a couple of days. The total day count is unambiguous either way.
Does it handle leap years?
Yes — day counts are computed from actual calendar dates, so every February 29 in your span is counted.
