Frequently asked questions

How do I save it as a PDF instead of printing?

Same button: in the print dialog, change the destination to 'Save as PDF' — built into every modern OS and browser. You get a vector PDF (razor-sharp at any zoom) sized to your paper. This is also how to send a calendar to someone else or archive a filled-planning month.

Sunday start or Monday start?

Sunday-first is the convention in the US and Canada; Monday-first matches ISO 8601 and most of the world's wall calendars. Pick the one your eye is trained on — misreading an unfamiliar layout is genuinely how appointments land on the wrong day. School and business planning in Monday-start countries should match, since 'the week of the 14th' means different boxes.

Why so plain? Other printable calendars have designs.

By choice: decoration costs ink, muddies photocopies, and shrinks the writing space, and a calendar's job is to be written on. Plain black rules on white print perfectly on any printer including laser, copy cleanly for a classroom set, and the empty boxes are the feature. If you want themed decoration, print this and let the kids supply it.

Are the dates right for old and future years?

Yes — the grid is computed from the calendar rules directly (including leap years and century exceptions), so 1900 through 2199 render correctly. Handy beyond planning: checking what day of the week a historical date fell on, printing next year's months before wall calendars ship, and genealogy work.

About this tool

The printable calendar generates a deliberately plain black-on-white grid — any month or full year from 1900 to 2199, Sunday or Monday week start, optional notes lines, today highlighted — because plain is what prints crisply, photocopies well, and leaves the boxes big enough to actually write in. Printing goes through your own print dialog, so the same button saves a PDF; month view defaults to landscape for maximum writing space. No downloads of bloated template files, no ink-burning decorations.

Like most tools on UtilityBase, the printable calendar runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded or stored on a server. It's free to use with no account required. Browse more generators here.
